Using ServiceM8 phone?
When I first set up my ServiceM8 Phone account, I didn’t know how to record my greeting message, so I just used the text-to-speech option to play a robot-like automated voice.
I thought it was about time I replaced the terrible robot voice….
To record your own welcome and voicemail messages:
- Use the voice memos app on your iPhone to record your message
- Upload / share it with your computer
- It’ll be uploaded as a .m4a so you’ll need to change this to a wav or mp3 file so that ServiceM8 can accept it
- ..Do this by just changing the file extension – click on the file name and where you see m4a, type over with mp3 (it’ll ask you to confirm)
- Logged into your ServiceM8 account on a computer, go to account > settings > ServiceM8 Phone
- In Call Settings, hit the edit button next to welcome message
- Select custom file from the dropdown
- Upload your mp3 file
- Ta-da ! You’ll now see a play icon
- Get a friend or use a different phone to give your business line a call and see how it sounds 🙂
