Just getting started with ServiceM8 Phone? Been through all of the setup options?

Great! Now time to make sure you and your team have the right kit to actually answer the phone!

Your field team / engineers

You’ll want to make sure that anyone in your field team who will be answering calls have the right kit to make and receive calls.

If they have an iPhone already, they’re good to go (they just need to install the new ServiceM8 Phone app).

If they have an iPad, then you’ll want to get them a pair of headphones.

This can be a normal set of headphones that come with an iPhone, or even a fancy set of Apple airpods or Apple airpod pros – the important thing to remember is that you need your call team to have headphones that also have a microphone

Your office team

Your office team can simply use a normal pair of (old style) 3.5mm jack Apple headphones with their computers.

This is because they can plug into a normal headphone jack and they have a microphone included. This is the old style of Apple headphones that come with older iPhones.

Alternatively, if they’re going to be on the phone a lot, you’ll want to consider something more substantial and comfortable for daily use.

Already have telephone headsets?

If your team already have phone headsets, then you can get an adaptor that plugs into your computer via USB – you can currently pick one of these adaptors up on amazon for less than £19

Looking for new headsets?

Check out the Logitech H800 – this is a good quality headset that’s comfortable for regular use.

It has easy-to-use controls and a microphone that you can tuck away when not in use. I’ve not used it myself, but it gets really good reviews, Logitech are a reliable and established brand, and those are the headphones that Michael from ServiceM8 wears in the overview videos 🙂

The Jabra BlueParrott New B450-XT Headset apparently does well in noisy environments, with good noise cancelling features.

The Plantronics CS540 headset is great for style and comes with both a headband and ear loops so that you can decide how you want to wear it.

The Avaya professional call agent headset is great for smaller budgets at less than £41 and looks the part too.
