Picture the situation – you’ve sent an email to a customer suggesting an appointment time. You’re waiting for the customer to come back to you. They come back to you a few days later to confirm – you go to put the appointment into the dairy and … BOOM! something else has been booked into that slot by another member of staff!
You then have to go back to your customer, tail between your legs, and try to work out when they’re next free.
The customer is annoyed. You’re embarrassed. Not good.
How about this instead?
Create a member of staff in ServiceM8 and call it something like ‘TBC Jobs’ (TBC for To Be Confirmed)

When you next suggest an appointment to a customer, book that appointment in for your TBC member of staff and you then have it properly pencilled in. Other team members can see that that appointment slot is spoken for and you can see the unconfirmed jobs in the diary at a glance.
When the appointment time gets closer and you still haven’t heard back from the customer, you have a visual nudge to chase them and get that appointment booked in to one of your actual members of staff 🙂
Do you do this?
Do you have a better way of managing unconfirmed appointments?
