Do you know how many new customers your business gained last month?
Most ServiceM8 users can’t answer that question.
You can see how many jobs you’ve completed, invoices you’ve sent and revenue you’ve generated…
…but there’s no simple way to track how many brand-new customers are entering your business each month.
Why this matters
Knowing your new client numbers can help answer questions like:
✅ Is my business actually growing?
✅ Is my marketing working?
✅ Am I becoming too reliant on existing customers?
✅ Why does this month feel quieter than last year?
✅ Are referrals increasing or slowing down?
Solution
ServiceM8 doesn’t currently store a dedicated “client created date”, which makes this difficult to report on directly.
I’ve been experimenting with the new AI Report Designer in Wink Reports V2 and built a report that estimates client acquisition by identifying the earliest recorded job for each client.

What the report shows
This report gives me:
📈 Total new clients acquired
📈 Average new clients per month
📈 Most recent acquisition date
📈 Month-by-month growth trends
📈 Year-on-year comparison opportunities
Practical takeaway
One thing I particularly like is that it lets me spot trends that revenue reports often hide.
For example, revenue might stay flat because existing customers are spending more, while new customer acquisition is actually declining.
This report helps identify those warning signs much earlier.
