A customer accepting a quote is one of the best moments in the whole job. The work is agreed and the money is promised.
But what actually happens next in your business?
In a lot of businesses, the acceptance lands and then sits there until somebody happens to spot it. Meanwhile the customer is waiting to hear when you’re coming, and wondering if they made the right choice.
Here’s a simple n8n workflow that turns “quote accepted” into an actual next step.
The workflow
- ServiceM8 Trigger set to On customer accepted the quote.
- ServiceM8 node: Queue job. Move the job straight into a queue like Ready to Book. You’ll need the queue’s UUID here, not just its name.
- ServiceM8 node: Send email (or Send text message). A short heads-up to whoever books the work, with the job number and customer name so they can act on it straight away.
- ServiceM8 node: Add job note (optional). Something like “Quote accepted, moved to Ready to Book by n8n”, so there’s a record in the job diary.
That’s it. Four nodes.
Why I like the queue step
A notification is easy to read and forget. A queue is a to-do list that doesn’t go away until someone deals with it. So even if the email gets buried, the job is still sitting in Ready to Book waiting for a date.
And remember last week’s post about workflows running twice? This one is fairly forgiving. Queueing a job twice does no harm. Sending the office two emails is just a bit annoying. It’s a good one to build first.
The Software Stack
- n8n
- ServiceM8 (official ServiceM8 community node)
What’s the first thing that happens in your business when a customer accepts a quote?
