Today, we’re talking about sending text messages from ServiceM8.

Here are the facts when it come to sending SMS –

Go over your plan’s limit and you’ll get charged 5p per SMS
Plan SMS Allowance

Growing – 300+ messages
Premium – 1000+ messages
Premium Plus – 3000+ messages
The maximum length for SMS messages sent via ServiceM8 is 460 Characters.
As the maximum size of an SMS message is 160 characters, this counts as 3 SMS credits towards your plan.
Other points to note:
When using the Online Booking SMS Extension (share contact button), you’re sending an actual SMS message through ServiceM8’s SMS system, which counts against your plan’s SMS allowance.
Got a question about SMS overage fees you’ve been charged?
ServiceM8 support have the capability to review the account’s SMS Delivery Logs to determine the number of SMS messages sent within a month.
So, the takeaway –
- Keep SMS messages short and sweet to maximise your allowance.
- Send as many as you need to get the job done – remind your customers of their appointment, give them updates, thank them, ask for feedback – their phone is probably in their hand for most of the day.
- If you go over the month’s SMS limit, ask yourself, is it worth 5p to grab their attention immediately?
