If you use ServiceM8’s Services add-on alongside Wink Toolbox (previously known as Wink Reports), this is worth knowing about.

Wink have recently confirmed the following:
“ServiceM8 has recently retired the API that we use to automatically fetch new service questions. This means that while existing data continues to work perfectly, any newly added service questions cannot be automatically pulled into Wink at this time.”
Basically, if you’ve already got service questions set up and connected to Wink, those will carry on working fine. But if you add any new service questions going forward, they won’t automatically come through into Wink. There’s no fix for this right now, because the change was made on the ServiceM8 side.
What’s the workaround?
The best option I’ve found for now is to go back to using ServiceM8 Forms and sending those answers over to wink instead of using the Services add-on for anything you need to report on.
It’s not ideal as the Services add-on is a really useful way of adding and editing information to a job with the ability to use the answers in forms, quotes and invoices and top-level reports, but ServiceM8 Forms do still connect properly to wink and give you the reporting functionality you may want.
It’s one of those frustrating situations where a change made in one platform has a knock-on effect on how you use another. If you were relying on the Services and Wink integration for new questions, it’s worth reviewing your setup sooner rather than later.
If you’ve found a better workaround, I’d love to hear about it – drop me a message or leave a comment.
